Southmead Project

About this service

The Southmead Project provides free counselling and support for survivors of abuse and addiction of all genders, aged 18 years and above, who live in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES.

They provide long-term counselling for survivors who have experienced recent or historic abuse, including sexual, physical or emotional abuse, domestic violence or neglect, and a Nexus counselling service for survivors of abuse who currently have an addiction to drugs or alcohol. They run pre-counselling groups for people on the counselling waiting list, a community based Active Recovery Project for people who are in or have completed counselling, and a Family Support group for people affected by another family member's drug or alcohol use.
