About this service

DHI run innovative services to help disadvantaged people and those living on the margins of society turn their lives around. Our adult substance misuse services are all about helping people to make the connections that allow them to overcome their unhealthy relationship with drugs and/or alcohol.

Whether you are preparing to make changes, building your recovery or wanting to prevent relapses, we will be able to provide free and confidential help. We pride ourselves on being rooted in the communities we work in, delivering our services in places that feel comfortable and drawing on the experiences of people who are in recovery from substance misuse.

Our integrated South Gloucestershire Drug and Alcohol Service is here to help anyone in the area who is struggling with drugs or alcohol. We mainly work out of hubs in Kingswood, Yate and Patchway, but we also work in GP surgeries and travel around the area to help people in their local communities.

If you need support with your use of drugs or alcohol, then get in touch for free and confidential help. Everyone who wants help from us will get an initial assessment. We then work with you and discuss your needs and how we can help. Our services include:

· 1:1 sessions

· Structured group programme (including abstinence support groups and mutual aid)

· Harm reduction advice and needle & syringe provision

· Naloxone training and provision

· Peer support

· Alcohol service

· Preparation for detox

· Opiate substitution therapy

· Employment, education and training (West of England Works)

· SPACED (Stimulant, Psychoactive, Alternative, Club and Experimental Drugs) service

We also work with those who have been affected by a family member or friend's substance use through our families and carers service. We have developed a free and confidential web service that can be used by anyone. webFAM will help you assess your own needs, give you some advice and point you towards services that can help, including our family support groups.
