CGL - New Directions Lewisham

About this service

New Direction provides an integrated treatment system for adults who have a problem with drug and alcohol use. The service works with people at all points of their treatment journey from engagement into services to recovery. We also provide support services to family and carers whose lives are affected by another’s drug and alcohol use. The open access service offers assessment 5 days a week.

We offer a variety of treatment services including:

Outreach and engagement services across Lewisham
Opiate substitute prescribing and detoxification
Keyworking
Hospital and GP Liaison services for alcohol related problems
Targeted Group work (Cannabis, Alcohol, Stimulant and Drugs Recovery Groups)
Peer support
Ear acupuncture
Family and carer support
Referral to detoxification and residential rehab services
Needle exchange
Hepatitis testing and immunisation
Street outreach services
Home visits
Assessment and referral to other agencies
Dual diagnosis support
Friends and family service
Service user involvement group
AA groups also work from our premises
