About this service
Barnsley Recovery Steps is a free and confidential service for people living in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. We are an all age service, supporting anyone who wants to change their relationship with alcohol or other drugs, and we are also here for people affected by someone else’s use.
How we can help
If you want to reduce, manage or stop using alcohol or other drugs, we are here for you. Our friendly and experienced team will work with you to find the right support for your needs.
We offer a range of free and confidential services, including:
- Support with physical, emotional and mental health
- Needle exchange
- Recovery and detox programmes
- One to one and group therapy
- Help with housing and managing your money
- Social activities
- Education, training and employment opportunities
You can also contact us if you are worried about someone else's alcohol or drug use.
Support for young people
We have a dedicated young people’s team called SPACE, offering tailored support for anyone aged 10 to 18.
Making support more accessible
- We have a hub in Goldthorpe for people who may struggle to access our central Barnsley locations
- We also have a dedicated worker in North East Barnsley, focusing on making our support more accessible in that area
Support for professionals
Our HOPE team is here for professionals too, offering expert advice, guidance and training to help you better support the people you work with.
