Substance Misuse Peer Support Project - Balham
About this service
This project offers support to family and friends of people who use alcohol or drugs in Wandsworth. The service is provided by Wandsworth Carers' Centre and is open to all Wandsworth residents over 18, who are affected by the drug or alcohol use of someone close to them. If you don't live in Wandsworth but the person using substances does, you can also access the service.
The project worker offers flexible and holistic support which includes:
- 1:1 sessions (advice information and support)
- Signposting and referrals on to other services
- Support group where you can meet others in same situation
- Support to be involved in the person's treatment and be a part of their recovery
Support can be over the telephone, via email, or by out of hours appointments for working Carers. Appointments can be in either of the Wandsworth Carers' Centre offices in Balham or Wandsworth, or another convenient location if you are unable to travel.
