About this service

Criminal Justice Intervention Team (CJIT) is part of the Drugs Intervention Programme (DIP) which is focused on reducing drug related crime. CJIT aims to help individuals who misuse specific Class A drugs out of crime into treatment and other support. Offers:

  • Arrest Intervention Referral service
  • Rapid access to opiate substitute prescribing
  • Community opiate detoxification
  • 1:1 Keyworking
  • Advice regarding housing, education, employment, benefits and other welfare issues
  • Recovery focused motivational interviewing and ITEP mapping
  • HMP Bristol to community opiate substitute transition and in-reach work
  • HMP Bristol 'through the gate' pick-up service
  • Bristol Magistrates Court 'Restrictions on Bail' and group work service
  • BBV testing & HEP vaccinations
  • Relapse prevention and harm reduction provision

Referral (how to access this service)

CJIT services are offered by referral from criminal justice service partners. Self referral only possible if the person has been a CJIT client within the past 2 years.
