Direct Access provides people with an immediate access point to treatment. Those concerned about drug or alcohol use can drop-in to the service at the Queen Street premises where along with advice and information it is also possible to exchange needles.

This service can also facilitate access to other elements of the service if required. People who want to remain at Tier 2 can do so and can access on-going ad hoc support.

Based at Queen Street the specialist service integrates both prescribing; and psycho-social care planned interventions. These two elements work closely together to provide a comprehensive treatment packages for service users.

Led by a Consultant Psychiatrist, and supported by a range of other professionals, the team provides a variety of evidence-based techniques to suit individual service users and their circumstance.

The team also facilitates access to other levels of treatment including inpatient detoxification and residential rehabilitation and service users are invited to attend the range of recovery groups available such as ASPIRE and the events and activities delivered by those groups.

As part of an integrated service we are able to ensure that those who need drug or alcohol services have access to the full range of interventions and that a seamless continuation of their support continues when their involvement in the criminal justice system comes to an end.

A presence in the Police custody suite and the local courts and strong links with the probation service, provides opportunities for early intervention and offers advice on sentencing options to the courts.

We provide a tailored support programme to help you on your recovery journey. Our experienced team of professionals will work with you to provide an initial assessment. You’ll then get a key worker who will support you through your treatment and help you develop a Recovery Plan, built around you and your circumstances.

We provide structured one-to-one support, structured group therapy, a health and wellbeing check including health screenings, blood testing and vaccinations. We also provide therapeutic interventions to help you achieve a balanced approach to life as well as support to family members who can become involved in your recovery should you wish for them to be included. We also provide substitute medication where appropriate and provide detox support at either rehab centres or in the community. Finally, our peer mentor/volunteer support mechanism is provided to give additional support on the road to recovery.

We actively encourage everyone who works with us to take ownership over their recovery plan to make sure it’s right for each individual, giving you the best chance at a successful recovery.

NY Horizons operates 5 hubs in Harrogate, Northallerton, Selby, Skipton and Scarborough.
