This is a list of services in your local area, along with some national agencies you can contact no matter where you live. Some of the services listed below may not be available to everyone. They might be specific to a certain age group, or require a referral from GP or health professional.

Service for adults (aged 19 and over) with problematic drug and/or alcohol use. Assessment, in-patient alcohol and drug detox, one-to-one counselling, relapse prevention groups. Methadone prescribing clinic, Hepatitis B vaccinations, HIV counselling. Needle exchange. Prescribing. Funding for rehab. Direct referral to other agencies. Service user forum. Service also provided for carers and relatives. Parent support available.
Offers a free, open-access information and advice service to those affected by substance use. This includes:
• Referral to structured treatment inlcuding rehab and detox
• Needle exchange
• Group work
• Complementary therapies
• Hepatitis screening and vaccinations
• Peer support
• 'Holding' groups for those waiting for treatment
If heroin, crack, cannabis, cocaine, legal highs, club drug or any other drug use is a problem for you, Hackney Drug Service can give advice and practical help including treatment.
Drop-in access for drug and alcohol users, their carers, families and friends. Offers free and confidential advice and information, one to one support, group work, referrals to other services for detox, prescribing, counselling and rehabilitation. Complementary therapies (acupuncture, shiatsu, and detox teas), needle exchange. scheme, and safer injection advice. Additional service for young people under 19 years.
Provide a range of free confidential services for people with concerns about their use of drugs and/or alcohol. It is also the entry point for all people wanting to access substance misuse treatment. Services include:
• Telephone/Drop-in Advice and information
• Brief interventions (1:1 & Group work)
• Blood Bourne Virus Screening, Testing & Vaccination
• Needle Exchange Programme
• Substitute Prescribing
• Supervised Community Detoxification
• Referral to other specialist agencies including in-patient detoxification & residential rehabilitation
