This is a list of services in your local area, along with some national agencies you can contact no matter where you live. Some of the services listed below may not be available to everyone. They might be specific to a certain age group, or require a referral from GP or health professional.
We recommend you ring ahead first, to see if it's the most suitable choice.
Young person's centre which offers information, advice, counselling service. Service is walk-in, for an appointment, free and confidential. Service caters for ages 12-21 years but will refer to other services.
HOMER (Hampshire Operational Model for Effective Recovery) seeks to deliver effective and sustained reduction in the harms caused both to the individual and the wider community by illicit or harmful substance and alcohol misuse. This will be achieved through the provision of an integrated, managed approach to identifying and addressing the whole care needs of the individual either directly or through partnership working within a One-Stop-Shop approach. The service will provide information and support for: adults and young people (who are over 18) in Hampshire experiencing problems with drugs or alcohol; people who are concerned about their own, or somebody else’s, drug or alcohol use.
Service for adults (aged 19 and over) with problematic drug and/or alcohol use. Assessment, in-patient alcohol and drug detox, one-to-one counselling, relapse prevention groups. Methadone prescribing clinic, Hepatitis B vaccinations, HIV counselling. Needle exchange. Prescribing. Funding for rehab. Direct referral to other agencies. Service user forum. Service also provided for carers and relatives. Parent support available.
Offers free and confidential information and advice to adults aged 18+ affected by substance use, and offers access into structured treatment. No. 11 provides a confidential needle exchange service, medically assisted recovery, hepatitis screening and vaccinations and much more. Those in structured treatment can expect a dedicated ‘care coordinator’ who will support individuals throughout the treatment process, including ‘aftercare’ support. No. 11 offers an outreach service in some circumstances. No. 11 provides access to the following: Substance Misuse Service (SMS); Community Alcohol Team (CAT); Counselling Services.
ACOS's role is to provide treatment interventions and other appropriate responses within communities across Derbyshire and the City of Derby.
