Will I have to pay for treatment?
No. Drug treatment services are available to those who need them, free of charge, from the NHS. You will be assessed and treatment options will be discussed. Not all treatments are suitable for everyone. If there is a specific treatment you want to try and the NHS doesn’t think it is suitable for you, you can go to a private treatment service, but you will have to pay for them.
Everyone can access drug treatment services, you don’t need to go to your GP first or be sent to them by anyone. You can go direct to the service you want to use and they will assess you to make sure that the service they offer is suitable for you. If it isn’t suitable most services will help you find a service that is suitable. These services are offered free of charge and are funded by the NHS, charities and/or other private organisations.
