Cannabis Self Help

Are you in control of your cannabis use?

Smoking cannabis can cause you problems in different areas of your life. Some regular cannabis smokers choose to cut down and stop, with many finding it easy but others find it hard.

By starting the course below, you can use this website to help you stop or cut down your cannabis use. The information that you provide is confidential and the entire course is completed via the web.

The course begins with five steps. We ask you what you usually smoke and then you make lists of the pros and cons of your cannabis use and set yourself targets and goals. It takes about 20 minutes to complete the five steps.

After step five, you are signed-up. You can then keep track of when you feel a craving for cannabis and when you actually smoke some. This will give you a clearer picture of the situations when you find it difficult to control your cannabis use. The self-help tool helps you deal with these situations and helps you to take control of your cannabis use.

We advise you follow the self help programme for at least 4 weeks. Experience has shown this time period will enable you to consider your cannabis use and identify your risk situations.

Please note that for the course part of the website, you will need Flash Player 6 (or above) otherwise it will take time to download from the website. If you don't have Flash Player 6 (or above), you can download it from the Adobe website.

Cannabis can mess with your mind..

Last night was one of the worst nights of my life. I don’t like tobacco and I have smoked weed a few times in the past and quite enjoyed it- it was relaxing. I am by no means a regular smoker. So I decided to roll a joint that was packed with weed and had a little bit of tobacco in it when a friend gave me some weed. This was a bad mistake.

Just to let you all know...

I just want everyone to know that you shouldn't believe all the propaganda that the governement come up with about Cannibis, I'm 16 now, i've been smoking cannibis since i was about 13, it has not affected me in anyway, i've never had a bad experience with it. I smoke it pretty much every weekend, sometimes during the week, the only thing that it's done to me is made me put on a few pounds by eating too much!

Pressured into smoking cannabis.

I started smoking cannabis at 12 due to peer pressure. The first time I only had a small amount of a joint and didn’t have much effect the second time it did. The day started and we went to meet some friends we were in a group of about 3 or 4 and we were having a few joints.

I only tried cannabis once.

It was a normal night at the local park with our crew until a girl from a rough area, near where we live, came down. She recognised a few of us from a festival. She was acting all hard because she had smoked a lot of cannabis that day. She was asking if we knew any dealers and we did know a few but never really spoke to them.
