The Crazy Chemist needs human lab rats

The Crazy Chemist needs human lab rats to test the latest batch of paint stripper, cattle de-wormer and plant food he's selling as party drugs.

Relatively little is known about the potential long term impact of these chemicals and, as their make-up changes all the time, users can't be certain what they are taking and what the effects might be.

Previously known as 'legal highs', BZP, GBL and synthetic cannabinoids were banned on the 23rd December. Here's what you need to know about the risks and new classification of some of the most common party drugs.

GBL Campaign

GBL: Call it gamma-butyrolactone, paint stripper, or Liquid E – it’s all the same to The Crazy Chemist. It’s prepared in a lab and gives you an artificial high – but a teaspoon can be all it takes to throw you into a real life coma. Don’t mix it with alcohol if you want to live!

GBL is now a Class C drug (when intended for human consumption). The maximum penalty for possession is 2 years in prison and 14 years for supply.

BZP Campaign

BZP Benzylpiperazine: Made from piperazine, a de-worming agent for farm animals – The Crazy Chemist presses it into a pill and passes it off as Ecstasy. It can give you a rush and it can give you seizures. Take your pick.

BZP and related piperazines are now Class C drugs. The maximum penalty for possession is 2 years in prison and 14 years for supply.

Spice Campaign

Herbal Smoke: S is for Spice and Synthetics. Aint nothing natural about this concoction. In fact not even The Crazy Chemist himself knows what this does to his subjects – but it could be more harmful than cannabis – he guarantees that!

Synthetic cannabinoids found in products like 'Spice' are now Class B drugs. The maximum penalty for possession is 5 years in prison and 14 years for supply.

MCAT Campaign

MCAT or Mephedrone: Snort or swallow it, the Crazy Chemist doesn’t mind how you take this white powder. He’ll tell you it’s like ecstasy – but anxiety and paranoia can ruin your buzz. He won’t tell you it can put a strain on your heart and nervous system and be seriously addictive stuff.

Mephedrone is illegal to be sold, supplied or advertised for human consumption. It's legal status is being reviewed under the Misuse of Drugs Act by the government.

Salvia Campaign

Salvia or herbal ecstasy: Chew or smoke it and things could get seriously psychedelic. Of course, if your hallucinations become scary you’ll just have to wait for the bad trip to end. Not very nice. The Crazy Chemist covers his back by labelling Salvia "not for human consumption"… best take his word for it!

It is not against the law to possess products containing salvia but selling, supplying or advertising it for human consumption is illegal. It's legal status is being reviewed under the Misuse of Drugs Act by the government.
